The Pre-Workout Facebook Session
Lay in bed and open your eyes. When the alarm goes off, pick up your phone and log into Facebook.
Scroll through your newsfeed from the past 48 hours commenting on every picture of a child covered in a sticky ice pop, or every pic of a new puppy or new kitten, every picture of the frat boy drunk and playing golf. You know the deal.
In addition, Like everything that gets in the way of your index finger. Next go to all your groups and scroll there too. Be sure to stop by the local mom board and stir up some trouble with a sarcastic remark or two. Set a mental timer.
Once that time comes, promise to get off Facebook. When you see the time come and go, adjust it three more times, pushing it back further and further.
Once you’ve covered groups and newsfeed, check your messages. Respond to anyone who may have messaged you once you went to bed and start three new messages asking your friends how their day/night went.
Finally, reunite with every long lost friend from high school. Scroll through mutual friends and that little section where Facebook tells you to friend more people. Send at least 10 new friend requests.
Before logging off, check for notifications to see anyone wants to rumble in the mom group and then shut off the phone.
Jump up out of bed just as you hear your children waking and throw on your workout clothes. When the kids get out of bed just as you are about to push play and totally ruin your workout time, storm off in a huff to put back on your jammies and promise yourself you will try harder tomorrow.
