I recently went for my mammogram. Mamos can get a bad wrap, but from my perspective, they aren’t all that bad. Yes, they do flatten your boob in between two plastic things and a machine squeezes down on your breast while you’re told to ͞”hold your breath”. But, the whole thing happens kind of quick and you’re pretty much in and out…of consciousness. Just kidding. In and out of the office.
So if you’re a little scared of getting your mammogram, don’t worry! You’ll get through it. I will say, that after examining me, and checking out my results my doctor said, ͞”You’re very dense.”
Should I have been offended? I certainly would have been if she were talking about my intellect and not just completed my exam. In case you’re still a bit foggy, my breast tissue is dense, you twit.
In my case, dense breast tissue means that it’s tougher to see everything in a mamo. So in the future, I’ll need a 3-D mamo. Pretty snazzy stuff.
I received my results and I’m happy to report that I have two, dense, healthy danglers. Go me!
