Now that everyone has settled into Fall, we can begin gearing up for a long-ass winter. Get ready for cooler weather, possible snow and of course, getting sick.
Every year about this time, I have a conversation with the flu. It goes something like this:
Me: Hey, flu.
Flu: Hey.
Me: You thinking about coming around here this year, or…?
Flu: Maybe.
Me: Well, can I get a more definitive answer, or are you going to make me sweat this out?
Flu: Hmmm, I’m not sure. I’m pretty busy this year. I just started an Instagram account and I really want to go viral. So depending on my availability and how often you wash your hands after touching infected surfaces…
Me: Seriously?
Flu: Serious AF.
This convo is typically followed by me spending the next several months washing hands vigorously and wiping noses constantly.
I’m a mom. Do I have any, and I mean ANY room for getting a cold? Forget it. The flu? Are you bleeping kidding me? The flu is a dirty word in my opinion. I don’t like it. I don’t want it. And if it lands in my home, I will hurt you.
I’m not going to get into the flu shot debate, but I am going to leave you with an extremely helpful and informative cold and flu prevention video about how to put your defenses up and beat flu season head on! Hint: Bone broth, baby!
